Introduction
REBComm is a command-line program for Linux for communicating with the RCA/Gemstar eBook reader device (model number REB1100). REBComm aims to provide the same functionality as the eBook Librarian (TM) software for Windows.
There was a similar-looking device made by Gemstar for a short period of time (model GEB1150). The GEB1150 uses a different protocol and file format; it's not currently compatible with rebcomm. Please email me if you would like to help me add support for it. The devices seem to be somewhat rare, so it's not currently a priority.

- Uses USB from userspace with LibUSB

You may find the following links useful. Email me if you would like to see a link added.- This script can dynamically set permissions for the USB device files. This avoids having to run Rebcomm as root, and is a very good idea.
